@Jalexandria22 @uniformlady1 @TexasTribune I’m at TAMU currently and I can honestly say that the vast majority of students either don’t care enough, or don’t know the statue exists beyond them hearing about the statue from the media. For that reason there is little to no voice advocating for the statues removal on campus.

@Tyhalsey @uniformlady1 @TexasTribune Hehehe their alumni base is about to be largely made up of former students upset about this so yeah once they're gone, Tamu will be hurting if they don't course correct. Current students become future donors (or not, in this case)

Texas A&M said it will not consider removing the Sul Ross statue, even as it has committees working to make recommendations about its future. Ross was an A&M president and Confederate general. Students say the university never made those intentions clear. bit.ly/3abKVpi

@uniformlady1 @TexasTribune Actually Texas A&M gets far more money from their (extremely traditional) alumni, than anything. Not to mention a student body that exceeds 70,000... I’m sure they’re going to be fine.
