I live in Georgia. Chik-Fil-A always has a line wrapped around the building and on down the street. KFC always looks abandoned. I'm calling shenanigans.
I grew up poor and had to work very hard for the middle class life I have now. My skin color was never an issue, though. That's what acknowledging privilege means. Nothing was handed to me, but I also didn't have to work harder due to race.
White Privilege doesn't mean all white people have great lives and all POC have bad lives. It means that, if you're white, your struggles probably aren't based on your skin color. If you're a POC, there's a chance they could be. Just that simple.
