True Detective S1 | E8 | Finale “Form and Void” “Once there was only dark. If you ask me, the light's winning.” Truly a one of one experience. An atmospheric masterpiece. TV perfection. 20 straight Minutes of my heart beating out of my chest. No amount of words are ever going to do the magical of this series justice. But god damn i never want to shut up about it. When you’ve spent eight episodes spanning near two decades building a horror story that’s finally clear, the expectations of it paying off couldn’t be higher. And then you actually experience the finale and it’s levels above anything i came in hoping for. This can sound so hyperbolic but when it comes to the best of the best TV episodes, this is one i can truthfully say i’ll never forget. And it’s not the only one from the season. It’s filling in the final pieces of this longstanding puzzle. It’s a walk through literal hell and on the other side it leaves you with maybe the most pitch perfect ending possible. And a full body chills performance from Matthew McConaughey. I have to give Woody Harrison his equal praise, but jesus fucking christ Rust Cohle is a character forever solidified in my mind. Heartbreakingly magnificent character through and through. It really just speaks for itself man. There’s a clear reason this show is held in such high regard and i’m so glad my eyes have finally been open to it. By no exaggeration i have had True Detective S1 on my mind to watch for atleast 8 years and it somehow, someway exceeded all the expectations i’ve spent years building up for it. Special stuff.

@BlackMajikMan90 Sure but you’re not gonna freaking hire a director whose vision isn’t aligned with yours. That’s counterproductive man. You wouldn’t hire a construction worker to do what the hell they want to your home, they’ll come in and pitch ideas, and you have final say. Use some logic

I saw a test screening of Supergirl back in January. And I can tell you for a fact that this isn’t an Ayer Cut or Snyder Cut situation at all. There was maybe a scene or two that they should have kept in and the krypton scenes were structured differently throughout the film. The film also ended with Kara flying off in her ship to “Dreaming” by Blondie. So that post credit scene that was initially talked about by Gillespie was absolutely that Superman apartment scene. But outside of that, there’s really nothing that could’ve been added or changed that would have improved the overall reception to the film in any meaningful way. If they put out Gillespie‘s cut, the people who liked/loved Supergirl still would’ve liked it. But if you didn’t like Supergirl or thought it was just mediocre, the Gillespie cut would not have changed your mind in the slightest. Craig Gillespie simply did not deliver.
