@DaveKluge Reasons team don’t do it is because it’s a bad idea. Poison pills can be put into those contracts. Such as a player option after year 1, a major escalation bonus if you play 6 games in the state of Maryland. Dumb stuff like that.

Savvy move by the Ravens to think about using the non-exclusive tag on Lamar Jackson. I’m not sure why teams don’t use this more frequently. Rather than trying to guess a player’s market value, let the other teams generate it, and then decide if you’re in or out.

@DiBiaseLOE It makes sense to me. 4-5 years is the productive life of an NFL RB. You have an extremely cost controlled back that you can build an offense around for 5 years and then you move on. Don’t think it’s a Howie positional move though.

Don’t get the #Eagles-1st round RB mocks If they don’t pay Miles Sanders they clearly don’t want to pay a RB an expensive second contract Why take a RB in RD1 only to let him go after 4/5 years? Waste of a top asset, I want my top picks to at least play through two contracts.

Nick Chubb will be gone after next yr anyway. The #Browns will not have the cap (Due to SexPred) to match the offers Nick is going to get. Some team will make Chubb the highest paid RB in NFL history. Hunt will be gone after this yr. Good luck with Ford as your RB.
