See you next year, @ABCTAutism! Theme for Seattle 2023 is "Cultivating Joy through CBT." I love this theme - how can we support autistic people in pursuit of wellness? #ASDD #ABCTSIG

🧚‍♂️ I met a personal hero last night✨💖✨🌈 Dr. Charles Silverstein organized a presentation to the American Psychiatric Association back in 1973 that led to the removal of "homosexuality" as psychiatric diagnosis, and told @ABCTNOW to stop doing conversion therapy in 1972.

Great talks about engagement with #autistic stakeholders across many interventions, but I especially liked this conclusions slide by Dr. Brenna Maddox #ABCT2022

It’s taken me awhile, too long, but I’ve gotten to a point where I’ve mostly eradicated “crazy” and “insane” from my vocabulary (unless I am talking about my mental health) and I wince whenever I hear or read them ( much as I long have regarding “lame”)

Very excited for our #ASDD #SIG to be hosting this panel w/ a wide variety of views! Kudos to our amazing Conference Planning committee 👏
ABCT Autism SIG@ABCTAutism

REMINDER: The #ASDD @ABCTNOW SIG pre-conference is on **Friday November 4th**! This year we will be hosting a panel on ethical/best-practice concerns on the use of ABA in autism, as this has been the subject of many recent conversations within the SIG and in the community. (1/4)
