BREAKING This is extraordinary - the Government has just announced a partial climbdown on the family farm tax. The government has today (Tuesday 23 December) announced that the level of the Agricultural and Business Property Reliefs threshold will be increased from £1m to £2.5m when it is introduced in April 2026. This allows spouses or civil partners to pass on up to £5m in qualifying agricultural or business assets between them before paying inheritance tax, on top of existing allowances. Would this be mad? HS4: Plymouth-Exeter-Bristol-Oxford-London. Bristol to Oxford in half an hour would be insanely pro-growth. Plymouth to Bristol in 45 minutes would be transformational for the South West. And plugging it all in to London is just turbo charging the lot.

@tomhfh To allow AI to train from the best songwriters and producers in the world, collect the information and then itself generate original music makes me feel uneasy. Soon we won’t have human made original music that can compete and I think that’s a real shame.

The copyright campaign from the creative industries today fundamentally misunderstands how AI trains. It doesn’t store bits of music to then repackage. It learns from music and other art or literature in the same way humans do. It creates new things not remixes.
