Great work is being done at the Capitol. Over the past two days, the House has passed several significant bills to protect families and children. House Bill 256, the Foster Parents Bill of Rights, passed. This bill recognizes the importance of foster parents in the child welfare system and seeks to provide them with rights and protections to support their role. House Bill 943 passed, creating a pilot program to screen children in foster care for autism. With early detection, children will receive the help they need and the right placement. House Bill 970 also passed, expanding the physical examination requirements for student-athletes to include a cardio screening. We are just getting started!

Yesterday, we celebrated Georgia Day! 293 years ago, James Oglethorpe arrived in Savannah with 114 men, women, and children. These settlers laid the foundation for what has become the Great State of Georgia!
