@alycia71250 @AlliesGata @AzPetrich There are more ancient manuscripts of the New Testament in the world than any other book from that time. If we can’t trust the contents of the Bible we can’t trust any writings from that era.

@TylerPauly42 @AlliesGata @AzPetrich But those texts are not necessarily accurate. See the long ending of mark 16:9-20. Some of the earliest, more reliable manuscripts do not include this section. Comparison does not produce one identical "received text". There are also other differences.

@AlliesGata @AzPetrich This would almost be a viable argument if ancient manuscripts didn’t exist… but they do.

@ComeHometoRome What a misleading way to categorize this argument. The original manuscripts don’t include the story, meaning it was likely added later by a scribe. Wes even clarifies he accepts the story as a true Jesus story, just not one divinely inspired John included.

Wes Huff states "I don't think it's inspired Scripture." The fruit of Protestantism is deciding for yourself what is Scripture. Prots can't quit protesting Christ.

The belief that Mormonism (LDS) doctrine is demonic is monumentally retarded. The supposed demonic LDS doctrine leads them to live very Christlike lives (most people acknowledge LDS are very good people), an odd strategy for the devil... You would think his purpose in spreading false doctrine would be to cause people to behave more demonically, not to act more Christlike with more kindness, compassion, peace-making, service and spreading the teachings of Christ. Ah, but that’s the devil’s cunning plan you see! He made Mormonism work so gosh darn well to DECEIVE and attract people to believe in the wrong Jesus! Because according to creedal Christians, it doesn’t matter how much good you do if you don’t say “Lord, Lord,” in the correct trinitarian way (believe in the correct Jesus) you shall suffer eternal hellfire! Hmm, methinks the bible teaches something different “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” Actively doing the will of the father is far more important than professing belief in Christ in the correct way which is still important but not something worthy of eternal torture, but trinitarians have it backwards. Seriously, they truly believe that even the best people on earth, Mormon or not, will be thrust into hell and suffer eternal torment for not agreeing with them about the nature of Christ. That is not justice, that is not right, and a kind loving God simply would never do this and many rational people have walked away from Christianity due to such hateful false doctrines like this. I propose that such false doctrines cause fare more contention, elitism and hate (in other words demonic behaviour), than any doctrine of the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints. Our doctrine teaches people to live Christlike lives. The trinity teaches people to condemn and wish hellfire on anyone that does not believe in the trinity, It actively encourages hate and cruelty towards otherwise good people. I have seen this personally many times (look at the quote chain), and it has pushed countless people away from Christ and his teachings. I don’t know about you but I can see with my own eyes which doctrine is truly demonic. (Hint, it’s the one that causes more people to act like assholes, and it’s false doctrines like that what we Latter-Day Saints call the Great Apostacy)
Shad M. Brooks@shadmbrooks

Only an imbecile would think that calling the Church of Jesus Christ a cult and dishonestly accusing us Mormons of exploiting the deaths of our fellow members in our time of grief would convince anyone, let alone Latter-day saints, to change beliefs. Is @calvinrobinson really that dumb? And on top of that he pushes people away from Christ because he's acting like a colossal a-hole, and fans the flames of LDS hate that caused this murderous attack. The self-righteous condemnatory way that false Christian “preachers” like Calvin go about preaching the gospel like this pushes more people away from Christ and makes more atheists than such behaviour ever brings in. This is not showing love to a grieving community. Its whole intent was to spread hate and vilify us LDS during a tragedy yet he actually thinks he is righteous or effective in doing this?!?!! We are not dealing with a smart person here. This is the way Satan wants Christians to try and spread the gospel because it lures them into behaving like spiteful hateful elitist judgmental pitiless holier than thou dogmatic snobs. In this way Calvin is currently serving Satan, because he is pushing more people away from Christ than attracting, and Satan wants him to continue behaving this way, all while presenting himself as righteous while damaging the causes of Christianity. Yes Calvin Robinson. I'm calling you a servant of Satan and a false Christian because of what you have done. I forgive you, now repent and pray to God for his forgiveness otherwise this sin will be hanging over your head for the rest of your life.

@JamesSurowiecki Thomas Jefferson, the “advocate” for separation of church and state, literally held church services in the Capitol and other federal government buildings during his presidency. I can’t imagine the founders would have any issue with this post.

@RACED_BASSIST @deusimpera Considering the carbon dating came from a patch that was made of cotton and not linen, that carbon dating is worthless. The presence of pigment doesn’t disprove anything since the actual image is burned on. I understand the aversion to Catholic relics but that’s not what this is.

@DerekYoungKSO Outside of Tech, what team did they lose to who significantly outspent them?Utah? This just seems like another excuse, especially when a guy they spent a bunch of resources on left the program mid season. I think a little bit of accountability would have gone a long way for fans.

@LoganFizzle @KatiePavlich The early American Republic was definitely not “explicitly secular.” It was explicitly against the establishment of religion or forcing citizens to be a specific sect of Christianity but it certainly engaged openly in Christian practices.
