This wasn't called as a foul against Victor Wembanyama in real time, so the same dance ensues if San Antonio wins this Game 5 as seen after Game 3. The play will be reviewed by the league office. A retroactive flagrant foul for Wemby would mean a one-game suspension for Game 6.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Thunder and Spurs split the next six titles. These are two teams with clear dynasty potential. The era of parity died pretty quickly.

@Carsobi Everyone is the next dynasty until they’re not. One bad injury, One unlucky playoff path, one bad signing or trade (or lack there of)… I’d put the over/under at 3.5 titles in 6 years. The fact that they’re both in the West makes it harder since they’ll never meet in the finals.

@Will_d_jones Can’t wait to see how the league office tries to justify this textbook flagrant 1 somehow not being a flagrant 1. My guess is they somehow claim an “unnatural shooting motion” on Brunson so that Wemby can play in game 6 at MSG.

This 3rd Q of game 5 is some of the most rigged-looking refereeing I’ve seen in quite a long time. This was a 6+ swing and a missed flagrant 1 that would have led to Wemby being suspended. Adam Silver clearly wanted game 6 at MSG for the revenue. #NBAFinals #Knicks #Spurs 🏀

Brunson landing on Wemby’s foot and injuring his left ankle. No landing space foul called, which could’ve been Wemby’s 4th flagrant foul penalty point and would’ve triggered a suspension for a potential Game 6.
