🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: World Cup final tickets have gone for as high as $10,990 through the FIFA official sale this Wednesday. Some reseller websites are now selling tickets for the final that are going for as high as $36,000. Many fans have expressed unhappiness with the immensely high prices, but FIFA will apparently sell tickets for as low as $60 for the most loyal fans of participating countries.

@bpmckeon64 @PeterMooreUSA I was paying about $75-$100 per game but was buying scalper tickets at the stadium. Stanford California. Paid $550 (12th row) for Finals at Rose Bowl and $100 for hotel. It was a different time and we had no MLS. The sport was ignored by most Americans back then.

@PeterMooreUSA I attended every game in DC in 1994. I was making $45k a year in a govt job. I don't recall the ticket price but I don't think it was a stretch for me. Huge mistake by FIFA. I won't be surprised if attendance is lower than expected at group stage games.

It got me thinking…who is this World Cup actually for? In 1994, I was able to take my family to matches here in the United States. It wasn’t a luxury decision, it was something that felt within reach, and that mattered because that’s how the game grows and that’s how memories are made. I was living in Boston working for Reebok at the time, and so we were able to go to so many games at Foxborough as well as in New York City. In full disclosure, my work also allowed me to travel to games on the West Coast, including the final. While that was not the best shop window for The Beautiful Game it was stunning to see the Rose Bowl fulled to the brim with 94,000 fans. Now fast forward to 2026. Imagine a young family here in America today. Mum, dad, two kids who love the game. They sit down and look at the cost of attending just one match…tickets, travel, maybe a night or two in a hotel…and they pause. Not because they don’t love the game enough, it’s because they simply can’t justify it. in my 45 years living here in the US and being involved in the game at so many different levels, I’ve never seen its popularity spike like it is today. Gen Z has fully embraced the game, Welcome to Wrexham has laid bare the passion and the joy it can ignite in a previously beleaguered community, and we are spoiled for the choice of just about every major game in the world brought to us by streaming channels fighting for their place in broadcasting live sports. Or think about a supporter from abroad. Someone who has followed their national team their entire life. For many, this isn’t just a trip, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage. Between ticket pricing, travel costs, and uncertainty around access, that dream starts to slip out of reach. That’s the part that sits uneasily with me. The World Cup has always been more than a tournament. It’s been a gathering of people, cultures, stories. A place where the game feels like it belongs to everyone. If too many of those people are left watching from afar, we lose something that can’t be measured in revenue. It becomes a made-for-tv spectacle like the Super Bowl, and then we lose the soul of it… And once that starts to go, it’s very hard to get back.

@PeterMooreUSA Absolutely nailed it. I went to numerous matches at Stanford. I would drive down early and buy scalper tickets for $100-$150 depending on match. July 4th US vs Brazil was around $200. Paid $550 for 12th row behind goal for Italy vs Brazil Final. Spent $100 for hotel in Pasadena.

@physicsgeek I absolutely 💯 percent watched the Challenger explode live on TV at school when I was a kid. We didn't do school work for the rest of the day, Instead we drew or wrote how we felt.

I know it's been 40 years and some of you were still sperm in your father, but all y'all screeching NO KIDS WATCHED THE CHALLENGER EXPLOSION are not only stupid, you're pig ignorant. 1) A teacher was on board as an astronaut 2) Lot of teachers wheeled TVs into their classrooms so that kids could watch a teacher fly into space. 3) Those kids saw the Challenger explode One of the worst videos I saw was of Christa McAuliffe's (the teacher in question) classroom -with a sub teacher- watching the video as the Challenger exploded.

Small venue, right up against the stage. I could actually unplug his equipment. Then met HJ after the show. Solo is sometimes best.

@WalkingTheWire8 What caused the flat ? If it's just a puncture from a nail or something you can get it patched. You can even buy one from a auto shop. Although you will have to jack your car up to remove the tire to fix it if you do it yourself. If you do get 2 more ask to have them rotated.
