@Tyler_TheWriter

#PNW #Writer. I write about everyday people and their lives, including their struggles, successes or tragedies. There are no boring stories.

Do you think writing is its own reward, or do you have to get paid for it to be rewarding? Me? Writing is the reward. Everything that comes afterward is just icing on the cake.

@NatalieKelda I'm actually not sure if I do? One of the things I've done is go paragraph by paragraph and rewrite them, then redraft the whole thing. So.... maybe that?

Do you have any personal rules of thumb when it comes to editing? E.g. I won't touch a first draft until it has sat for 6+ months and I've written a novel's worth of new words on other projects(this is bc I've then learned enough my edits are more effective)

This is $50,000 for our team to: 1) Meet with technology sector representatives to understand current state of technology, 2) Disseminate this info to stakeholders via extension presentations, 3) Survey growers about interests and concerns, 4) Prepare full research grant (2026).
🇨🇦🇺🇸 Lynn Sosnoskie 🇺🇸🇨🇦@LynnSosnoskie

It’s been announced. We (Cornell, Rutgers, WSU, Arkansas, Purdue, UC Davis, Oregon State) have received an SCRI planning grant to determine growers interest in novel weed control technology in perennial crops and identify the barriers to/drivers of grower adoption.

I'm still a big fan of the "chosen one" trope IF and ONLY IF - you throw them through some serious hell - they don't know they're "chosen" - turns out they weren't chosen 😅 Poor sods.

You've seen the 6 book covers that didn't make it... so time to reveal the one that did. Here it is. The final version. What do you think? Did we make a good choice? #art #bookcover

I’ve been largely housebound for the last decade with panic attacks. My anxiety has been a lifelong struggle. It’s not always easy every day, but the fight is worth it. You’re worth it. 🫶 Please know you’re never alone. Take care today! 🤗

@authorjla In all seriousness; I despise piracy, and Amazon's return policy is garbage, from what little I understand of it. Unfortunately, artists are rarely fairly compensated.

From the heart, this is all 100% true. From the brain: Chasing publishing trends is pointless. Books take two years to publish, so by the time your trend-chaser hits shelves, it could be out of fashion, anyway. Don't follow trends. Set them.
Alyssa Matesic@AlyssaMatesic

If you feel that inner fire compelling you to tell this story, if it's in your brain and it's itching to come out, write it. Don't worry about whether it's going to be "publishable." Don't worry about whether anyone's ever going to read it. Write it for yourself first.

@JessGraceWrites character because he was gay; he was a great character because he broke the German enigma code and had to live with those consequences. While that does NOT justify what the English govt. did to him by any means, I'm saying he is a well-written character who is gay, rather than...
