Toufexis voices the characters Void and Rook in Marathon and also worked as the game’s voice director. Speaking about the backlash some games receive, he said: “I don’t understand why people want games to fail. Life is so short, man.” He also talked about how online discussions around games have changed, saying criticism is normal but constant hate can become exhausting for developers and actors who spend years on these projects.

Former Square Enix business director Jacob Navok says the company missed a huge opportunity by not following the free-to-play live service model that made Genshin Impact a global success. Navok said Square Enix “failed to capture a new generation of players” because it stayed focused on traditional full-price game releases while the industry moved toward free-to-play ecosystems built around long-term engagement. Navok also said “excessive internal bureaucracy” slowed the company and made it harder to adapt to changes in the gaming industry.

Right, but a significant part of the pitch for UE5 was that systems like lumen and nanite would be lightweight and scale on their own without careful optimization. Most of the UE5 projects that do run well simply didn’t use those systems at all and used alternative methods or built their own framework to lay on top of the engine.

All hardware but CPU is expensive these days. Even HDD. It’s insane. This was a prebuilt at Costco the other day and it’s the best deal I’ve seen in gaming hardware in a while. Also, the CPU wafer crunch is coming as well now that data centers have a desire to balance their GPU heavy hardware.

Tbh while MUCH better, I can detect the early phases of the woke rot in the 2012 with the scene of the woman talking to the driver. The camera angle implies she was supposed to originally be a race babe style character, but shorts cover up more than short tight shorts usually do, the flannel shirt everything and prevents cleavage when she leans into the window. She looks like she was designed by and for lesbian chicks of that era rather than for men. The rest of the trailer is actually great though for sure.
