I made a clay figure based on my friend @Tyrobytt 's fanart (pic 2)… Sorry I'm not good at it so the result is quite funny…😹 But since I've already done it...(My friend doesn't disdain it and is willing to take in this little dude. Such a good friend.😽😽)

My Chemical Romance, When We Were Young 2024, ‘The Black Parade’, Live Review: “That makes it all worthwhile. That’s why you do it. I feel really, really fortunate to be able to even be a fucking small part of that.” So said Frank Iero in our recent Rock Sound cover interview, reflecting on the story of a girl attending the MCR reunion shows with her fiancée wearing the same ‘Black Parade’ jacket her Dad had worn to the original tour. Now, here we are, two years later as many more devoted followers of this uniquely special band gather in Las Vegas for a full performance of the defining rock album of a generation. And yet, we are greeted not by the 2006 collective of our memory but by a more mature, slick and experienced outfit, donned in all-black attire and backed by their own silhouettes as the gigantic video screens display their images in black and white visuals reminiscent of a Hitchcock classic. As a series of ominous beeps bleed into ‘The End’, it is clear that My Chemical Romance intend to let their ever captivating music do the talking, breezing through the record’s opening four tracks with ease before encouraging the crowd to lead the way with ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’. “Let me hear your mad dog impression”, Gerard Way playfully orders ahead of a joyfully energetic ‘House Of Wolves’ before visibly feeling the emotional wave that engulfs the thousands-strong crowd during a stripped-back ‘Cancer’. As we reach the climax of ‘Famous Last Words’, featuring typically stunning musical interplay between Iero, Mikey Way and Ray Toro, we hear the sound of that familiar ‘Blood’ interlude leading the audience in anticipatory song. The sheer attack of the following two-song encore of ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise)’ and ‘Helena’ is more than enough to cement MCR as the once in a generation talent they so clearly are. “You have been beautiful”, Gerard observes as they depart the stage. Who knows when we may next see them together again after this weekend but no matter what, they can rest assured that in the eyes of this When We Were Young crowd, the compliment is very much reciprocated. 📸 @jennfive 🖋️ @mrjaytee
