@Garnet_2203 Archaic and bureaucratic Freedom of Information regimes shouldn't exist in 2026. Everything gov't generates should be accessible on public web servers searchable by ai immediately and transparently.

Thank you for the reply. But I think unfortunately that legislation results in censorship as hyperlinks, the basis of the internet, are taken away from people. I also do not understand from my perspective why such a heavily subsidized and sometimes government owned sector like the media sector in Canada, needs even more subsidies in the form of money from FB etc. That is extremely repugnant to me. They should try to be self sufficient entities, isn't that better for free speech and news media with integrity whether you're left or right or centre?

@U49624 @USWPColby Bill C-18 wasn’t just “charging for links.” It created a bargaining system to force platforms to bargain with news companies for making their content available, including indexing, aggregation, ranking, snippets, -and- links. The core issue was market power and ad revenue.

A strong Canada that prioritizes hard power over rhetoric benefits us all. Unfortunately, Canada has failed to make credible progress on its defense commitments. DoW is pausing the Permanent Joint Board on Defense to reassess how this forum benefits shared North American defense. 1/3

@U49624 @USWPColby 😂😂😂😂😂 It's nice to see how you don't actually understand the legislation you're so angry about. And yeah, Canada will be the same. Boo hoo, maybe you can run south and lick some boots in person! Won't that be fun for you?

It is "stealing" (a link is stealing according to you rather than promotion, ok) because that is how that legislation in Canada defines and frames it on behalf of the government funded and subsidized media. Anyway, don't think Canada exists in current form much longer, so soon that situation will likely change, and once again people will be able to see the hallowed news links on Canadian FB one day soon. See also - - recent news articles (not on FB tho) re Canada selling off ports and airports, going out of business sale right. Well anyway, enjoy your scat fetish, that is your right, I am not into that tho!

@U49624 @USWPColby Hilarious that you think corporations should just be able to steal content. Very bootlicker of you, champ. Claiming the gov't is doing it when a corporation is actually the culprit is thing we call a "lie." Kind of like most of the shit you do gleefully swallow.

@fuckwobble @USWPColby It's the same effect, therefore it's blocked, unless you are saying it's accessible? Is blocked an improper description? Seems the gov't gets their way of a dumbed down population tho either way. And nice gov't framing of "fair share", Katie Telford would approve.

@U49624 @USWPColby 😂😂😂😂😂 No, it's not. Do you people ever say anything true? It's blocked because Meta chooses to block it rather than pay their fair share. Learn facts, dumbass.

@U49624 @USWPColby Wow, amazing, the Trump administration making up shit to harass other countries. That's novel! Golly! I'm amazed that they even do that! Actually, I'm not, I'm more amazed that you think it's not what they do -all the fucking time-. Moron.

Ontario police can apparently use spyware powerful enough to remotely take over smartphones and they’re fighting to keep the details secret from the public. Meanwhile, Doug Ford weakened Ontario’s Freedom of Information system, making it harder for journalists and citizens to get transparency from government. So ordinary people are expected to live under increasing surveillance, but when it comes to political power, backroom deals, deleted records, Greenbelt scandals, private meetings, and government accountability, suddenly everything is “confidential.” If these extraordinary powers exist, where is the oversight? Where is the transparency? And why does accountability seem to apply more to citizens than to politicians?

For most of human history, women did not experience children as some rare interruptions to adult life. Babies were everywhere, in arms, on hips, asleep in slings, playing under tables while bread was kneaded and laundry was folded. A young girl did not grow up in a world separated from motherhood. So how can women want babies when they rarely see babies? A baby changes the atmosphere of a room, people smile more, they speak softer, they are gentler, there is more joy. Perhaps the desire for children has not disappeared nearly as much as we think. Perhaps many women have simply been separated from the very thing that used to awaken that desire in their hearts.

@EUCouncil I imagine too all the strange little arrow heads on the left that keep being added, will eventually overtake the rainbow part of that flag.
