A new milestone in a journey that begins in Sharjah… and reaches the world.

In this context, Sharjah’s hosting of the Congress in 2030 reflects the UAE’s ongoing commitment to advancing children’s literature and strengthening its presence on the global stage, building on a well-established cultural vision.

Held every two years, the IBBY Congress is a global platform that brings professionals in children’s literature around the world, creating space for dialogue, exchange, and new perspectives on the role of books in shaping young minds and nurturing a culture of reading. #UAEBBY

وفي هذا السياق، تأتي استضافة الشارقة للمؤتمر في عام 2030 كخطوة تعكس التزام دولة الإمارات بدعم أدب الطفل والارتقاء به، وتعزيز حضوره على المستوى العالمي، في امتدادٍ لمسيرة ثقافية راسخة تقودها الإمارة.

يُعد مؤتمر المجلس الدولي لكتب اليافعين، الذي يُعقد كل عامين، منصة عالمية تجمع المختصين في أدب الطفل من مختلف أنحاء العالم، لفتح آفاق جديدة للحوار وتبادل الخبرات حول دور الكتاب في تنمية الخيال وتعزيز ثقافة القراءة لدى الأجيال. #المجلس_الإماراتي_لكتب_اليافعين

We believe that meaningful literature transcends borders, and that translation is not simply the transfer of words, but a thoughtful selection of works that deserve to be shared, building bridges between readers and influential voices from around the world.

Extending this global recognition, the book has been translated into Arabic by Marwa Al Aqroubi, President of the UAE Board on Books for Young People, bringing this literary experience closer to Arabic readers within a new cultural context.

In children’s literature, stories do not stop at language barriers. I Want My Hat Back by Jon Klassen, winner of the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award 2026, is one of those works that continues to resonate across cultures. #UAEBBY

فنحن نؤمن بأن أدب الطفل الجيد يعبر الحدود، وأن الترجمة ليست مجرد نقلٍ للنص، بل اختيار واعٍ للأعمال التي تستحق أن تصل، وجسرٌ يربط القرّاء بأصوات أدبية مؤثرة من مختلف أنحاء العالم.

وفي امتداد لهذا الحضور العالمي، تأتي الترجمة العربية لهذا العمل بقلم مروة العقروبي، رئيسة المجلس الإماراتي لكتب اليافعين، لتقرّب هذه التجربة الأدبية إلى القارئ العربي، وتعيد تقديمها ضمن سياق ثقافي جديد.

في أدب الطفل، لا تقف الحكايات عند حدود اللغة. يُعد كتاب «أعيدوا لي قبعتي» للفنان جون كلاسن أحد هذه الأعمال، والذي فاز بـ جائزة أستريد ليندغرين التذكارية 2026، إحدى أبرز الجوائز العالمية في أدب الطفل، تقديراً لإسهاماته المتميزة في السرد البصري. #المجلس_الإماراتي_لكتب_اليافعين
