Last Thursday, UA Regents have granted President Pat Pitney emeritus status as she retired. Only three UA presidents have received the honor before her.

UA President Pat Pitney has appointed Dr. Cheryl Siemers as the permanent chancellor of the University of Alaska Anchorage. Siemers has served as interim since May 2025. Pitney cited strong community support and called her “a steady hand at the wheel for UAA.”
