You can help animals in Ukraine right now 💛💙 3 ways to make a difference: 1️⃣ Share our page — spreading the word helps more animals get the care they need. 2️⃣ Donate — every contribution counts: 📌 via PayPal or on our website: uanimals.org/en/how-to-help/ 📌 via Patreon: patreon.com/uanimals 3️⃣ Take action locally — join rallies or organize small demonstrations. Urge your local authorities to respond to the ecocide in Ukraine. Every action, big or small, helps save lives!

Helping animals in need means witnessing both the best and the worst of humanity 😕 We see incredible kindness and selflessness every day, but we also face heartbreaking cruelty and suffering. We do our best to stay strong and keep going, but there are moments when the reality of it all is overwhelming. This week, UAnimals helped 435 animals. Thank you for standing with us through it all, the highs and the lows. Until next week, friends 💛

We helped 405 animals in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region during our Vet Mission ❤️‍🩹 Veterinarians from Pets Sterilisation sterilized, vaccinated, and treated 400 cats and dogs for parasites. Nine animals were operated on and received additional treatment. We also provided 17 veterinary consultations. 86 out of the 405 animals were homeless — they were caught by animal catcher Andrii, making it possible for them to receive care. We thank our partners for their courage. Together, we worked in field conditions under the constant threat of enemy drones, but the lives of the animals living in the city are worth it. We are also grateful to the residents of Kramatorsk, who continue to care for animals in such difficult conditions and use every opportunity to help them. And once again — thank you all for your daily support 🫂

This house in the Donetsk region was completely destroyed by a russian strike 💔 These days, the UAnimals team is rescuing animals from the Donetsk region. The streets of the towns are covered with nets to protect against FPV drones, which have been flying here for a long time. “But there are things that are even more terrifying and painful. Like the story of these people. A guided bomb bomb hit the neighboring house; their home was destroyed as well, and they have nowhere to live now. Their German shepherd, Kara, miraculously survived,” says videographer Kseniia Kozeniuk. They managed to find a new place to live, but animals are not allowed there. So the family is saying goodbye to Kara — a dog who has been with them almost since birth. She will go to a new family in the Volyn region 🫂 Thank you to everyone who does not abandon their animals even in the hardest times 🐾

This cat can’t walk properly :( His name is Kryvulka (Crookie), and he is from Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region. We don’t know exactly what happened to him. When volunteer Iryna found him, he was already unable to stand on his paws 💔 Kryvulka had a broken leg, and the fracture healed incorrectly. Specialists from Pets Sterilisation examined the cat — he likely also has a pelvic injury. He was brought to us during our Vet Mission, but it’s impossible to carry out a full examination in field conditions. So we took Kryvulka to a veterinary clinic. After his treatment, we will look for a new family for him 🤞 Look into these eyes 🥺 Maybe you could be the one to give Kryvulka a happy future.

During the vet mission in Donetsk region, soldiers brought a dog named Foxy 🦊 to us for sterilization. They found her mother, Orysia, at a military training ground two years ago. Later, the dog gave birth to five puppies. All of them were given new homes — only Foxy stayed. Now the unit takes care of both dogs. Veterinarians from @pets.sterilisation sterilized Foxy, and the soldiers have already taken her back with them. Unfortunately, not all animals are this lucky. Most puppies born on the streets are left without shelter, searching for food and warmth. Friends, please support the sterilization of homeless dogs and cats: uanimals.org/en/sterilizati… Your help will save thousands of lives from hunger and suffering on the streets ❤️‍🩹

Swans are dying because of Russian attacks 💔 In the Tuzlivski Lymany National Nature Park in Odesa region, birds are dying from oil spilled from Russian tankers. Ivan Rusev, head of Tuzlivski Lymany National Nature Park, reported that in recent days he and his colleagues found six dead swans. According to the scientist, the birds died from oil poisoning and pollution of the coastal area. Russian forces are shelling ports in Odesa region, including oil storage tanks, and the oil is leaking into the sea. Each of these deaths is a tragedy and a crime. Russians are not only killing living beings with missiles and drones — they are also turning land and water into something toxic and deadly. Those responsible must be held accountable for their crimes. And it is our duty to speak about them, to document them, and to remember. #StopEcocideUkraine

Severe dental pain left this cat unable to eat 😔 At our Vet Mission in Kramatorsk, a veterinarian examined her and confirmed that some teeth need removal, while others require cleaning and further treatment. She’s now recovering at home 🙏

22 dogs and 19 cats evacuated from shelling in the Donetsk region ❤️‍🩹 Most were handed over by Ukrainian soldiers. Some reunited with families, others taken to shelters. We also helped civilians who couldn’t transport their animals. The frontline is moving west. More rescues are needed. Support our evacuation missions 🐾

Yes, we know — everyone wrapped up last year’s results ages ago. But as you know, we have paws, and there was a lot to count. This carousel shows only a part of what we achieved together in 2025 — otherwise, even the busiest paws would get tired of scrolling. But if you’re in the mood for the full picture, visit our website and read the complete report 🐾 The link is in our bio. Grab something tasty and dive in 🐙 And if you’re not here for deep research, here’s the short version: together, we create miracles in the midst of darkness and chaos. And we thank you with all our hearts for your kindness ❤️

A gentle dog from Kramatorsk is looking for a home 🥺 We found her during a Vet Mission — likely abandoned. She’s now vaccinated, стерilized & microchipped — and ready for adoption. Message us if you can give her a home 🐾

In 2016, UAnimals started with one belief: animals don’t belong in circuses. What began as protests grew into laws, nationwide marches, brands going fur-free — and today, into evacuations from the frontline. Different years. Different battles. The same values. UAnimals. 10 years of standing up for humanity.

“russia is destroying not only our culture and history, but also nature and the animals living in our steppes and forests,” Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Oleksii Makeiev told @welt. As part of #StopEcocideUkraine, UAnimals installed symbolic Christmas tree installations Nature on Fire in Ukrainian embassies across Europe — reminding the world that the war continues and that russia is destroying Ukraine’s ecosystems and wildlife. Thank you to @welt, @EURACTIV, @SusOnlineNet, @SustainEurope & @qnazionale for covering russia’s ecocide in Ukraine and bringing this issue to international audiences. Ecocide knows no borders ❤️‍🩹

A Labrador named Ray was rescued from the “grey zone” near the frontline ❤️‍🩹 A Ukrainian soldier found her but couldn’t keep her at the position. We evacuated Ray to a shelter in Cherkasy, where she’s now safe and waiting for a new family. Your support makes these rescues possible 🫂

Behind these numbers is daily suffering — and consequences that will last for generations. Even the smallest insect has become a witness to russia’s crimes. Let’s protect the life we can still save — and demand accountability. #stopecocideukraine

Four years ago, russia launched its full-scale war against Ukraine. Since day one, we didn’t ask if it was the right time to help — we simply started. And we haven’t stopped. These have been 4 hard years. And 12 years of war for Ukraine. Thank you to everyone defending Ukraine — including UAnimals team members who joined the Armed Forces. Supporting the army is fundamental. Supporting animals is humanity.

Wild animals belong in the wild — not in circuses, petting zoos, fur farms, or living rooms. Since 2016, UAnimals has fought animal exploitation. Together, we have helped: • ban traveling circuses with animals in 30 Ukrainian cities; • encourage Ukrainian brands to stop using natural fur; • strengthen liability for animal cruelty. Support our work. Together, we can do more 🙏
