Now the cat comes to greet his caretaker from combat missions, sometimes bringing mice as a "thank you" gift. The soldier feeds Mavic and shelters him when possible, giving him all the love and attention he deserves.

Mavic the cat was named after a drone used by Ukrainian combatants. The soldier found him in Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia region, and now they are best friends 🐾 Here’s Mavic’s story ⬇️

Even after evacuation, rescue is not over. Today, we covered treatment for Joey, a cat evacuated from Sumy region who was later diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. We also sent food and antiparasitic treatments for animals cared for by the military in Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Mykolaiv regions 🐾

This week, we helped 671 animals. We carried out a vet mission in Sumy region, where our partner vets helped 300 patients. And our evacuation team brought 43 cats and dogs from Donetsk region to safety. Thank you to everyone who cares for animals!

Recently we were contacted by the soldiers who had taken in a sick puppy at their position. The soldiers asked us to cover the cost of the puppy’s treatment. Sadly, the puppy died on the way to the clinic 💔 We paid for their cremation — it was the least we could do to help. It is sad and painful, but we are grateful to the soldiers who gave the little one a chance at survival.

Yesterday we evacuated 18 cats and 20 dogs from Kramatorsk and Sloviansk in Donetsk region. Two dogs, who had previously been evacuated and treated, were also collected from a veterinary clinic in Dnipro. All the animals are going either to families or to shelters 💙

This dog was the toughest capture of this vet mission in frontline Sumy region. But with some planning and team work, we managed to get her to our vets. Now the dog is undergoing treatment, and we hope that soon she’ll be free again.

In these 24 hours, russia attacked Ukraine with over 1400 drones and missiles. And while people can try to process this pain and protect themselves, animals can’t understand what’s going on. They can only sense the danger approaching. 2/3

Yesterday we paid for a surgery for Filya, a puppy rescued after shelling in Kherson. His treatment was a success and Filya is now feeling well, but he is still in the clinic for rehabilitation. We hope this is the puppy’s last surgery, and that a happy life lies ahead for him ❤️

We brought Lucky to the clinic in Dnipro. The vets agreed to help the dog even though the time was outside their working hours. Lucky’s wounds were stitched up, he underwent a course of IV drips, and we covered the cost of his treatment. 2/3

When Lucky the dog heard explosions approaching, he ran away as fast as he could. When we found him, it turned out he had shrapnel wounds and burns all over his body. It all happened because of yet another russian attack on Kramatorsk in Donetsk region. 1/3

After evacuation from the frontline regions, most of animals need treatment. Because of constant stress and danger, animals’ illnesses tend to flare up there. And as vet care there is usually inaccessible, these poor cats and dogs usually end up feeling worse over the years. So when we get those cats and dogs to safer cities, we make sure to get them to vet clinics first. There the animals get examinated, vaccinated, spayed and treated. Yesterday we paid for treatment, food and litter for Thomas the cat. We evacuated him from Rodynske in 2025. After the evacuation, Thomas was taken in by Phoenix shelter, but then his chronic conditions started to flare up constantly, so he spends most of his time undergoing treatment. Thanks to your ongoing support, these animals are still alive and can get the treatment they need 🐾

We can’t save every animal’s life, but we try to save as many as we can in most dangerous regions of Ukraine. And we aim for more, because every animal deserves a chance to live a safer, happier life without explosions and cruelty. Choose kindness with us 💙
