Congratulations to W🏀 Temi Aina and W🏐 Natalie Funk for being named this week's Athletes of the Week powered by Meal Prep For You!! Aina was the most consistent performer for women’s basketball this weekend despite a pair of losses on home court. The second-year guard had her best weekend of the season, averaging 10.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks in two games against nationally ranked UBC as well as UFV. Her top performance of the weekend came against the Thunderbirds where she shot 80 percent from the floor while registering season-bests for points (13) and rebounds (7) in a hard-fought game.   Funk was one of the women’s volleyball’s top performers this weekend as they wrapped up 2024 with a split on the road in Calgary. On Friday night, Funk had eight kills and just one error as she hit .438 percent while adding 4 blocks and 3 service aces, including the winning ace on match point, as the Heat swept the Dinos in three sets. She followed that up with 5 kills, 1 ace and 1 block in Saturday’s setback to Calgary. Thanks to her 5 blocks this weekend, the fourth-year middle is averaging 1.06 blocks per set this season, fourth-best in Canada West. #BringTheHeat #AthletesofTheWeek 🔥
