Human culture will be affected by LLMs. Here’s my paper on how to assess the cultural imaginary in humans and machines. I present an experimental paradigm that compares how humans and LLMs write stories to the exact same prompt. The paper shows how humanities, and specifically literary studies, combined with experimental and computational approaches, offer answers to pressing questions about human culture in the age of LLMs. Now published in Humanities and Social Sciences Communications.
