Held our last estate ops meeting for 2022 at the Mardyke arena where Kevin took us through UCC's Mardyke Extension Project - our first significant investment in low carbon contruction - timber CLT with Glulam posts & beams chosen for their performance & sustanability.

We are delighted to announce that UCC is going plastic free. We will eliminate #singleuseplastic across campus dining and shops in 2023. #PlasticFreeUCC ucc.ie/en/news/univer…

In the past two months, we have saved enough electricity to power 260 homes as part of #UCCReduceYourUse. Thanks to everyone who continues to play a part in helping us conserve energy. @GreenCampusUCC

Just delivered my first lecture of the new academic year. Very happy with CO2 levels in the range 540-600 ppm. And, well done to the Buildings & Estates team @UCC who have installed more CO2 monitors and also posted details about the ventilation in lecture rooms across campus.

Today we got to learn about the reduction in energy use that @Pharmacy_UCC and @UCCBandE have achieved over the last decade- a massive 28% reduction in the building load, avoiding 1.8GWh of electrical use since 2012 - and more to come with #shuthesash campaign
