This week @UCSDSwim sent 8 scholars-athletes and one alum to the TYR Pro Swim Series in Knoxville. The gold and blue posted 5 new team records and made it back to finals 15 times over four days. Congratulations Tritons! 🔱

Congrats to men’s rowing varsity 8 who won the D Final this past weekend at the IRA National Championships, finishing 19th in the country which is the best finish in program history. Way to cap off an incredible season !! Go Tritons 🔱

Congratulations to our men’s and women’s rowing teams for their performance at the WIRA Championships. The men won 5 Grand Final Titles including beating UCLA. All women’s boats were in Grand Finals with 3 podium finishes. Great job!!!

Congrats to our women’s water polo team who defeated Davis today in the quarterfinals of the Big West Championships by a score of 9-8. Good luck tomorrow versus Irvine in the Semifinals. Go Tritons!!! 🤽

Congratulations to our Men’s Rowing team who went 4-0 at the California Challenge Cup in Newport Beach. The Tritons defeated Cal, UCLA, UC Irvine and OCC. Great way to start the season. Go Tritons!!!

Congrats to our baseball team for their huge victory in Arizona where they defeated Michigan 11-2 in the Desert Invitational. Go Tritons ⚾️

What a week for milestones being set by two of our coaches. Liz Laplante our tennis coach defeated Nevada for her 600th victory. Eric Olen our men’s basketball coach defeated Cal Poly for his 186th victory making him the winningest men’s basketball coach at UC San Diego. Congrats

What an awesome weekend for our men’s soccer team who defeated Santa Clara 2-0 on Sunday. Santa Clara was ranked number 22 in the country. The team is now 2-0 after defeating the University of Pacific 3-1 earlier in the week. What a great way to start our season. Go Tritons 🔱

Congrats to our women’s volleyball team for their 2-0 start of the season by defeating Army 3-1 and Cal 3-2 at San Diego State. What a way to start the season. Way to go Tritons and good luck with the rest of the season.🔱

Our softball team defeated Rutgers 7-5 in the National Invitational Softball Championships in Colorado. Baylor is up next.This was an historic victory for our softball program because it was our first post season victory and contest at the DI level. Congratulations!!!

Congratulations are in order for one of our swimmers who will be competing on the international world stage. Miranda Renner has qualified for the 19th FINA World Championships in Budapest. Way to go Miranda and good luck at these championships. Go Tritons 🔱

Congratulations to our women’s 4x100 meter relay team of Lizzie Dolan, Idara Ibekwe, Jenna Mencarelli and McKenna Meaney for setting a new record with a time of 48.83 at the Chris Renne Twight meet in Riverside. Way to go Tritons🔱

Good luck to our men’s volleyball and women’s waterpolo teams who are competing in the Big West Conference Championships this week in Hawaii. Winners of these championships will move on to the NCAA’s postseason competition. Go Tritons!!!

What a great win for our softball who defeated Cal State Fullerton with a score of 4-3 on Saturday. This win was also the first ever nationally televised contest for our athletic program. Way to go Tritons🔱

Congratulations to Francis Nwaokorie of our men’s basketball team for becoming a finalist for the Kyle Macy Award which is bestowed upon the top freshman DI player. This selection qualified Francis to be a member of the Kyle Macy All American team. Way to go Francis. Go Tritons🔱

Special shout out to Shawn Kim from our men’s fencing team for his third place finish in the Sabre match at Nationals this past weekend at the University of Notre Dame. This tied the highest finish ever by a Triton at Nationals. Way to go Tritons🔱

Congratulations to to our Fencing team for their 13th finish out of 27 teams which equaled the teams best finish at a full field Nationals. What an accomplishment when one considers all the challenges that the program has gone thru with COVID 19 and other adverse issues. 🔱

Congratulations to our mens rowing team for their victories this past weekend with the second and third varsity 8 boats at the San Diego Crew Classic. The first varsity eight also did well with a fifth place finish amongst a tough field. Way to go Tritons🔱
