He will be remembered not only for his brilliant mind and distinctive sense of humour, but also for his warmth, sincerity, and unwavering kindness. A funeral service will be held on Friday, 22nd August at 2 pm at St Nicholas Church, West Tanfield, Yorkshire.

Warm, funny, kind, and exceptionally intelligent, Daniel had a rare gift for lighting up any room he entered. His generous heart and thoughtful nature left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

After graduating from Durham University, Daniel began his career at Tullett Prebon (now part of ICAP) and went on to enjoy a successful and respected career as a broker in the City.

He later represented the Harlequins and UCS Old Boys RFC. His cricketing journey began with the UCS Under-11s and continued through to the Old Gowers and the MCC.

He was also a loyal and much-loved friend to many. Daniel was a keen and gifted sportsman from his earliest days at UCS, excelling in both rugby and cricket. He went on to play rugby for Durham University, where he studied Modern Languages at Hatfield College.

Daniel was the beloved husband of Fiona, a devoted and loving father to Harry and Daisy, a cherished son of Pete and Carol, and a caring brother to Lucinda.

It is with great sadness that this is being posted. In Memory of Daniel “Sibbo” Sibson 1971-2025 We are deeply saddened to share the news that Daniel “Sibbo” Sibson (OG 1978–1989) passed away on Tuesday, 5th August 2025, aged 54.
