Today @UCUniversity we had a peaceful transition of power to the new 23rd Guild President @AmpondaKen at the handover ceremony that was graced by @RebeccaKadagaUG we appreciated your continued support.

I take this opportunity to congratulate @AmpondaKen H.E Kenneth Agaba Amponda who was sworn in today as the 23rd Guild President of @UCUniversity . May God guide you on yet another journey.

As we get closer to the election date, I engaged the @UCUniversity Guild Aspirants on how to win the elections, I urged them to work together even after the elections because they all bare brilliant ideas that seek to improve the students’ Welfare.

In a closed meeting we held with the Vice Chancellor @UCUniversity , we agreed to extend the voting to 25th November and give the University these two weeks to ably respond to the Student leaders’ resolutions. We hope for positive outcome in these two weeks.

Due to the profuse messages we have received from the students, yesterday the @UCUniversity Student leaders held a meeting coming up with resolutions that call for the @UCUniversity ‘s immediate response

Kindly note that I have engaged the Vice Chancellor @UCUniversity and we have agreed that the earlier communicated deadline (of 23rd) for tuition payment shall be reasonably adjusted.

As regards tuition, we resolved that the Vice Chancellors discuss with University Councils and report back in two weeks. Our petition intends to expedite the processes and see that we quickly help the students.

Provision of stimulus package to the institutions Suspension of taxes on Private institutions Reduction of tuition by institutions of higher learning. @Educ_SportsUg to provide laptops 💻 as opposed to radios and televisions to institutions of higher learning

As Guild leaders, we met with @Educ_SportsUg minister and @mofpedU and vice chancellors of @UCUniversity ,@ProfNawangwe of Muk in a meeting chaired by the speaker @RebeccaKadagaUG seeking for Government intervention in;

Earlier today, Guild leaders had a dialogue with the Vice Chancellor and his Cabinet about the preparedness of @UCUniversity to observe Covid-19 SOPs while students are on campus, new startling fees structure and online learning. The resolutions shall be forwarded to Council

Yesterday @UCUniversity Guild officials met with @UCUniversity Administration, discuss about Take-home exams, Tuition payment, continuation of the semester.

Rev. Canon Dr John Senyonyi, thank you for the exemplary leadership showed, you will not only be remembered for a title you once held, but for the achievements accomplished during your time. May God guide you on your new chapter.
