Self-reported grades (ES=0.96, 2+ years' learning) Learners assess their own performance, encouraging them to reflect on their understanding & growth. A straightforward yet impactful way to boost learning outcomes. More so than a just a grade written at the top of a paper.

Boredom with an effect size of -0.46 is a year's worth of learning gone. Students cite causes of boredom (an overuse of PowerPoint slides; tasks of low challenge; or when asked to remain passive and listen to others, etc) Learners want more designed learning. Less teaching.
