
When the taps run dry, life does not simply pause. Families must find water to cook and drink. Schools and healthcare facilities struggle to operate. Businesses are disrupted, and the burden often falls heaviest on the most vulnerable.
Recognising these realities, the University of the Free State’s Centre for Global Change hosted its inaugural Water-Gender-Social Vulnerability Symposium at the Qwaqwa Campus, bringing together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, students, and community stakeholders to examine one of the Thabo Mofutsanyana District Municipality’s most pressing development challenges.
