Afternoon #PADay at UHN recap - this time highlighting Cancer Research for students from across Toronto. Volunteers from the Koritzinsky and Khokha labs facilitated a fun workshop and lab tour for youth, sharing what their own work entails. An inspiring day of all things #STEM!

We're back with our PA Day at UHN program for high school students! For our first session of the year, we welcomed students to @KITE_UHN where they toured simulation labs and heard from student researchers. It was an inspiring morning exploring #research.

Thanks to the generosity of #TeamUHN, 41 high school students were matched to various @UHN teams for 1-3 days of job shadowing. This program is critical to encouraging and inspiring a 'pathway' to #STEMeducation - we are grateful to all who volunteered their time. #NextGenUHN

A trial conducted @UHN showed how stem cell–derived islets (zimislecel) helped participants with #Type1Diabetes (T1D) become insulin-free after 1 year. These early results show promise for hard-to-manage forms of T1D. 🔗 Read more: uhnresearch.ca/news/new-cell-…
