"[Children are] growing up in an extremely complicated world" - Mark Russell opens a panel on how the internet industry can protect and support the rights of children and young people online. He's joined by Jen Persson, Dr Kim Ringmar-Sylwander, and Sonia Livingstone OBE FBA.

Our next session focuses on the topic of a UK Digital ID - how can we ensure a balance of power between the citizen and the state. Our chair, Wendy Grossman is joined by Professor Mirca Madianou, Karla Prudencio and David Birch.

Speaking on the UN World Summit on the Information Society, Paul Blaker, DSIT, says that "there is a request for the IGF to report to other parts of the UN system, which I think will give it greater influence".

With our lives transformed by AI - how to ethically manage AI is a hot topic. Our Ethics of AI Workshop conveners Sal Mohammed and Stacie Chan looked at what AI could look like in 2030 with input from our audience in the room and online.

Our panel discusses Digital Fragmentation from a User Perspective, with comment from Izaan Khan, Rachel Coldicutt, Alice Taylor and Sheetal Kumar, who says: "Some countries only get one way to connect to the internet. It’s better here in the UK - but there are still restrictions”

Baroness Lloyd of Effra CBE, Minister for the Digital Economy, DSIT and Department for Business and Trade kicks off #UKIGF25 with a fantastic keynote, highlighting how "The internet is a shared resource, and its governance should reflect that diversity".
