Positive pressure introduction is an alternative method of preventing radon buildup. A special fan is installed, drawing clean air into the property and dispersing it to a very gentle pressure. This inhibits radon from being ‘sucked’ inside from the soil. #radonaware

A radon sump is an effective option when it comes to radon mitigation. It works by creating a void under the building, which becomes its lowest point of pressure. Gas is drawn to the void, and on reaching it, can be safely vented away. #radonaware

If your home is large, has a basement, or has had extensions built at different points in time, it's a good idea to invest in more than two detectors, in order to build a more comprehensive picture of the radon level inside. #radonaware

Which room? Radon testing kits should be placed in your home’s main living areas and at least one bedroom. This helps to pinpoint concentration levels in the areas of your home that are occupied the most often. #radonaware

It's something of a myth that you'll only find radon gas in older or badly-maintained properties. In reality, it can affect buildings of any size, type or age. In the average-sized home, two detectors are usually sufficient to obtain an accurate level measurement. #radonaware
