This agreement creates a unified powerhouse for blockchain innovation here in the United States and positions Algorand as the chain that enables financial empowerment at scale.

Today, the Algorand Foundation made the difficult decision to reduce our workforce by 25%. This decision was not taken lightly and is in response to the uncertain global macro environment as well as the broader downturn in crypto markets. These employees have been best-in-class contributors to this ecosystem and to the Foundation, and this was an incredibly tough decision. We are sincerely grateful to them, and we are, of course, committed to supporting them through this transition. We believe that we now have a more sustainable alignment of Algorand Foundation resources with the protocol’s long-term business, technology, and ecosystem priorities. We remain fully focused on our mission of financial empowerment and the continued development and growth of the Algorand protocol, network, and ecosystem.

As a founder, you sometimes get so excited about a breakthrough you just made but you can't share the details yet, it's frustrating. I just had this happen - reached a MAJOR R&D breakthrough in development of @ULTRADE_org's upcoming Perps DEX that will be massive in the market, but it's too early to say what it is. So instead I'm here, venting. Ugh.

IMO, the big missing piece in the Algorand ecosystem today is a solid perps DEX! 🔥 That's likely one of the biggest gaps between $ALGO and $SOL. Solana, despite all its flaws, still gives whales a proper place to trade on-chain rather than on CEXs, and that's why its on-chain activity/volume are high. On Algorand, we still lack the proper tools for these kinds of traders! Right now, it's simply impossible to trade perps directly on $ALGO, which are by far the biggest market in DeFi today! Perps account for nearly 90% of total trading on some chains! If we manage to address just two points: 👉 Have a strong perps DEX built on Algorand, something like @DriftProtocol or @GMX_IO 👉 Bring more liquidity on-chain, especially deeper USDC/ALGO pairs for whales (through VCs, more interoperability options to bring $$$ on-chain, etc.) That's basically ALL Algorand is missing right now to really see metrics take off and finally become a competitive place in DeFi alongside other chains! $ALGO is a true gem, with unmatched UX in DeFi, we just need more advanced tools for whales and traders! There are amazing builders on Algorand and beyond, and I'm convinced the community would be happy to support this kind of development, especially through xGov to help fund it! 🫡 Perps DEXs are also probably the most profitable DeFi models today! 🫰 Could be a total game changer for Algorand! Let's make it happen!

SURPRISE! Ultrade is in fact on Mainnet and our whitelabel solution is available to any project, KOL etc who wants to launch their own multichain Native Exchange. And when perps go live... BAM! these whitelabel partners will instantly have perps live as well, with shared liquidity, multichain, the whole shebang! NGL though, liquidity has been a big constraint with mainnet launch and we are working on it. Expecting to have some news around that as well soon.
