Outside of research, he loves spending time with his wife and two dogs doing anything from exploring the North Carolina mountains and beaches to enjoying different restaurants in Chapel Hill and Carrboro. 3/3

His dissertation under the supervision of Dr. Kim Brouwer is focused on elucidating how metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) may impact hepatocyte drug transport and clinical pharmacokinetics using both in vitro and computational modeling tools. 2/3

William Murphy started at Washington College where he received a B.S. in Biology before completing his PharmD at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. He joined AAPS when he had the opportunity to present research at the AAPS Annual Meeting! 1/3

Brian works with Dr. David Drewry to illuminate the function of the kinases, a family of proteins which are understudied. He is making resources such as chemical probes, assays, degraders, and crystal structures to facilitate the study of these promising cancer treatment targets.

Under the supervision of Dr. Kim Brouwer, she focuses on characterizing 3D in vitro cell systems to assess transporter proteins. Mattie uses this knowledge to develop physiologically-based pharmacokinetic models to answer questions on transporter-mediated drug-drug interactions.
