Unplug those mini fridges! Each mini fridge costs the campus about $50 per year to operate. This means if 100 mini fridges were removed, the campus would save $5,000 a year!

Dress comfortable and save the planet. Turning off your AC unit for 5 hours/day could save UNC over $130 per unit over the course of a year!

Don't be afraid of the dark! Use an LED task light to study/work at night for at least 2 hours day for one week. If every member of campus did this, it would result in $998 of utility savings this week.

Spring Cleaning! Spiff up on your laundry with these energy saving tips: run only full loads of laundry, use cold water, clean the lint filter before each load and if you want to go the extra energy mile… hang your clothes to dry!

Keep it clean and still save water and energy by taking a shorter shower. Reduce shower time by 5 minutes per day, throughout the month. This could save up to 450 gallons of water throughout campus!
