UNHCR 🇹🇹 showcased its refugee registration and documentation system to Defense Minister Wayne Sturge.   Using the Biometric Identity Management System, UNHCR links biometric and registration data to issue secure documentation, enhance protection, and prevent identity theft.

UNHCR Representative for Belize, Cuba, Nicaragua, Panama, and the Central and Southern Caribbean Jose Egas met with refugees and civil society organizations in 🇹🇹 this week to strengthen advocacy efforts and explore strategies for enhancing refugee protection in the country.

We joined ⁦UN colleagues⁩ in Port of Spain 🇹🇹 to mark International Women’s Day 2025. In Trinidad and Tobago, around 50 percent of registered asylum-seekers are women and girls. Strong legal frameworks support them to access protection and fulfill their potential.
