Very sad news. Jenni’s parents were my neighbours when I was growing up—both truly wonderful people—and she was the most famous person I knew back then. We reconnected a few years ago and shared stories. Really sad but lived a full life.

Paying your taxes is part of supporting your country — funding schools, helping the vulnerable, and investing in the future. Ordinary working people can’t dodge their tax bills. Funny how some of the loudest voices on the British right seem able to.

The passage of the Employment Rights Bill is Labour at its best. Despite fierce opposition from the Greens, Reform, Lib Dems and Tories in the Lords, the will of the people has won. Workers will see more job security, stronger rights, fairer pay and protection from bad employers.
