The phone has just rung. A voice said "hello, it's Arthur Scargill" & then like I might not know who he is he said "i used to be the President of the NUM". I said *I know who Arthur Scargill is". Anyhow, long & short of it is that he's joining us on the picket line tomorriw.

We have had a members mtg today @NCMME in advance of next week's strike action. Members reaffirmed their rejection of the pay offer & their commitment to take strike action. This is despite scaremongering by the employer that the museum's future will be put at risk.

94.44% of members at National Coal Mining Museum have just voted for strike action to improve pay. This was on a turnout of 87.8% so we have sailed through the legal threshold of 50% turnout. @NCMME have been notified & meeting tomorrow to decide strike dates! @unisonyh

We share deep disappointment of many Kate Josephs has not taken the honourable route & resigned from her post.Our fear, as Sheffield tries to move forward,her continuation in the role of CEO will reflect badly on the city&cause reputational damage that difficult to fully overcome
