10 years ago, Hopong farmers planted the first coffee seed. Today, they opened their first processing plant. With UNODC’s support, 1,000+ farmers turned former poppy fields into sustainable coffee farms, exporting 1,000+ tons of green coffee since 2018 and generating USD 5.48M.

Former #poppy farmers are willing to adopt new infrastructure & practices to boost productivity. This requires investing in technology, agriculture & non-agriculture areas, & vocational training, to equip both farmers & rural youth with skills to improve farming & diversify into new #livelihoods opportunities.
