@UPLBMuseum was part of BIO SEMINAR 2024 of PUP Society of Biology Students on 18-19 June 2024 at Polytechnic University of the Philippines. @aimsdupo, Annalee Hadsall, and @DOSTphl CIP Fellow Frances Mae Tenorio spoke on "fascinating stories on remarkable advances in biology."

#SpecimenSpotlight | Today we're featuring an ant from our Entomological Collection which was collected 100 years ago 😉📷 This 𝘖𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘶𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘴 (Smith, 1858) was collected by Entomologist Dr. Leopoldo B. Uichanco in September 1923.

#SpecimenSpotlight | Just recently, the species has been renamed to 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘢 𝘱𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴 with common name 'Philippine Box Turtle.' Although it is found across South East Asia, it is listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN Red List due to large illegal trade.
