Answer Writing Format
( By IAS Faizan Ahmed Sir)
First give a few seconds to correctly understand the demand of the question and don't just jump into writing the answer
Intro - begin with definition of the keyword asked in the question or with some data and facts about the issue or current affair related to that issue
Body
- Features/Characteristics
- Benefits
- Issues/Challenges
- Government initiatives
- Way forward/Suggestions
Conclusion
Always end at an optimistic note, using keywords like New India, $5 Tn economy, Kartavya kaal, Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, SDG, etc.
Some suggestions
•Make use of map/diagrams/flow chart, etc. as much as you can to improve the presentation of the answer.
•Don't write in paragraph format, prefer point wise format
•Write smaller sentences, don't care about grammar, it's not an essay
•Use subheadings and put them in boxes to make them stand out
•Add as much data, facts, information, examples, reports, etc. related to the point you are making
•Avoid cutting and overwriting
•In way forward/suggestion, include some reports like Xaxa committee for tribal questions, Bibek Debroy for Railway, etc.
•Don't use short forms except for universally recognised abbreviations like UN, CBI, UNSC, IUCN, WWF, NCRB, etc.
•Use a single color pen to save time
•Highlight important keywords in your answer
•Leave enough space between different parts of the answer
•Use the quotes and keywords from the speeches of hon'ble PM as much as you can to give your answer the look as if written by a civil servant himself

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed Mahesh Dixit as the new Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), India's premier internal intelligence agency. A 1993-batch IPS officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre and a medical doctor by training, he has served in several key intelligence assignments, including Jammu & Kashmir, Nagaland, and Bihar.
Mahesh Dixit played a significant role in intelligence-based security operations in Jammu & Kashmir, particularly after the revocation of Article 370, and has also been involved in discussions with civil society leaders in Ladakh. His appointment reflects the government's emphasis on experienced leadership in handling internal security, counter-terrorism, and intelligence coordination.

Even UPSC rejects simple BA people by making CSAT tough 💀

Kunal Shah doesn’t have an IIT or IIM degree. He has a BA. If he were applying today for a Product Manager role or even many fresher jobs, companies like TCS or Infosys might not even shortlist him. Yet today, he is leading WhatsApp globally. That’s the gap in hiring. Companies today filter candidates based on degrees and formal requirements at the very first stage, instead of evaluating skills and ability. In the process, they take away opportunities from many people who may not fit the traditional profile but are perfectly capable of doing the job.
