Michelle's series, Creatively Speaking, spanned over two decades. In 2015, The film was co-presented the film series “Tell It Like It Is: Black Independents in NYC 1968-1986” with The Film Society of Lincoln Center, which was awarded the Film Heritage Award by the @NatSocFilmCrix

Michelle's company, KJM3 Entertainment Group, worked on distribution for major films; one of its first projects was “Daughters of the Dust.” Widely viewed as a masterpiece of Black independent cinema and have been the first feature film by a Black woman to have a wide release.

"As the Founder & CEO of URU, The Right to Be Inc., I was awarded ""Community Collaborator Award"" at Yale’s Afro-American Cultural Center's 50th celebration. I am pleased and honored to accept this award and to join the other recipients who I have long admired and respected."

In the fall of 1969, the doors of Yale’s Afro-American Cultural Center opened as a second home for Black students on campus. I was honored to be a part of celebrating 50 Years with a program titled "Renaissance & Revolution."
