Anyone else get the feeling sometimes that we’re the real North Korea? *looks at grocery store full of plenty - realizes it’s just industrial waste turned into highly profitable edible products* *pays 40% in taxes which was considered slavery in Egyptian times* etc.

The Chinese Communist Party is celebrating the ban of TikTok as American influencers move to CCP-controlled platforms like RedNote. Young American women are now paid foreign assets spreading propaganda for China.

@made_in_cosmos The stains that get me are the greasy finger print/mouth print stains scattered all over my shirts. Impossible to find them all until you get a shirt out of the dryer and bam ruined

@Libraryoftessa We did a homemade gifts themed Christmas one year with my husbands family and… uh I think we have 2 things left from it. Non crafters should not attempt to be crafty. Case in point.

@Alicia_Bittle_ Love this. Im extremely passionate about this sentiment for my kids and my husband doesn’t get it because he did not do the “superstitious” childhood activities. Of course now my FIL loves showing my kids magic tricks but then REVEALS the trick so they “dont believe in magic” 😑

As a child, I never got to go trick or treating, and I never got to believe in Santa Clause. We talk of “rite of passage” ceremonies and how they’re missing in the West… well, so is the rite of childhood. The rite to bathe in the warm glow of magic and whimsy. The rite to be sheltered from the dark shadows the harsh light of logic throws. Parents can have the best of intentions but still be parenting from a place of fear and ignorance. Don’t pass on your fear, allow your children to inherit the world only children can inhabit, a world where fairy tales could possibly be true. "Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairytales again." -C.S. Lewis,

Mothers of boys, how do you keep them fed in busy sports seasons? This is new to me and I need filling meals that are somewhat grab and go between activities.

@MdBreathe Curious what happens to the gut microbiome on carnivore? So much of our important gut bacteria feeds on fiber… I think prolonged periods without fiber would contribute to leaky gut and inability to digest certain foods, potentially contributing to allergies and intolerances…

I just got off the phone with a patient who’s lost 20% of his body weight in 7 months doing carnivore diet and walking 12,000+ steps a day. Fatty liver is gone, sleep is better, and generally feels much better. Cholesterol level is 205, triglycerides 63, insulin 8.3.

If church’s actually did their trunk or treats ON Halloween, then we might actually participate in that instead of trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. However, they do it on a different night entirely and therefore making a church replacement for Halloween a moot point! It makes no sense to me. Now it’s just something EXTRA to do, which is just silly.
Megan Basham@megbasham

Totally understand people’s convictions, especially given how dark and disturbing Halloween celebrations have grown over the years, but we do know it was the original church alternative right? Like essentially it started out as the old version of trunk or treat. (though, maybe a good argument for why accommodation of pagan preoccupations is bad and we should quit trying to churchify worldly things. That is a discussion I’d be up for.)

i'm pretty nervous about handling bedtime/nighttime with an infant + toddler currently, toddler sleeps in his own room, but we get him to bed by laying with him in his bed until he's deep asleep, then sneaking away in preparation for the new baby, i've been considering new put-to-sleep methods that i will be able to do while simultaneously caring for newborn/infant tonight i tried sitting in a chair next to his bed while he went to sleep - it went SO well! i explained the change at the beginning of the bedtime wind-down. he argued a bit, but we proceeded with the routine, and when it came time for me to get in the chair, he accepted it! feeling optimistic, like i could *maybe* pull this off with a baby strapped to my chest

@abysstoabyss I can’t even tell you how many women I’ve seen say about their newborn “idk why he’s crying, it hasn’t been 3 hours yet so he’s not hungry” meanwhile my kids never screamed and I just fed them constantly.

If I ever hear a pediatrician tell me or any mom of a newborn to strictly "feed every 2 hours for 20min each side" again, I'm just gonna tell him he's dumb and bad at his job. "Experts" who spout nonsense like that don't deserve my manners.

@UpTambourine I cut out all fake ingredients & lost 25 lbs in 4 months & EASILY maintained for a year. Then I cut out all grains, sugar (except fruit), soy, dairy, seed oils and lost another 15lbs so far. All while eating easily 2000+ calories per day. It’s a lie you have to starve.

You know, I just keep thinking if the people taking Ozempic, Zepbound, Wegovy etc are losing weight because theyre eating less then I literally just need to eat less and save myself 1000.00 a month. But it turns out that just eating less is kinda hard.

My 3yo cannot understand why, after promising to buy her oranges, I am not doing it asap. "but you can drive in your car!!!" It must be frustrating to be a tiny child with this all powerful being in charge who can go wherever they want whenever they want, and just chooses not to

I have seven children. I’ve never skipped a meal. And I’ve never skipped a daily shower. Little, little babies are in my arms during meals or laying and kicking on the ground beside me. Eventually they eat with us, never separate. During showers they are being snuggled by dad or also laying on the ground playing.
