12 FEBRUARY 1815 – Fort Bowyer falls – War of 1812 After a five-day siege, the American fort capitulated to the British. Enemy plans to attack nearby Mobile, Alabama, were soon preempted by the arrival of news of the Treaty of Ghent. #USArmy #Armyhistory #WarOf1812
