🚨 Hey @Steam, honest question: it's common sense that every IT org scans software for malware to protect users. If you’re hosting games, why aren’t they proactively scanned for viruses or malicious code before people pay to download them? In the words of @TheJoeySwoll, "You need to do better." TLDR: The FBI arrested a 21-year-old Florida student accused of publishing several fake games on Steam that secretly contained malware. Over roughly two years, those games allegedly infected around 8,000 computers and accessed about 80 crypto wallets, stealing at least $220,000 in digital assets. Investigators say the games were presented as normal titles on Steam, but once installed, they deployed malware that looked for crypto wallets on victims’ machines and siphoned funds out quietly in the background. The operation ran from mid-2024 into 2026 before it was shut down. To track the suspect, agents followed the stolen crypto as it was converted and spent, including being used to buy gift cards that paid for Uber Eats deliveries. Those deliveries were allegedly tied back to the suspect’s addresses, giving the FBI enough to search his home and devices and make the arrest. The case highlights how malicious actors can hide malware inside seemingly legitimate games on mainstream platforms, and how relying on “official stores” isn’t a guaranteed shield against threats. It also shows how blockchain transactions, once thought anonymous, can be traced end-to-end when law enforcement really wants to follow the money. @FTC and @USCPSC what's going on with this? @USCPSC what recourse do consumers have when the Recall Administrator for a product recall is unresponsive? I filed a claim for the recall of GraniteStone (E Mishan) pans. Calling and emailing has not helped as it seems they're both unmonitored. Is there a way to escalate?

If you are opening the windows to stay cool during the heatwave, make sure to protect kids from window falls. Move furniture kids can climb away from windows. Install window stops or guards. If you have double-hung windows, open them from the top.
