when you do not acknowledge the realities of the power imbalance and how they may show up in the therapy space, you're at risk of harming individuals because the therapeutic relationship has the potential to reinforce inequality and oppression.⁣⁣

Think about the pain I have had to revisit to write this. Think about the starkly different standards I am held up to. Think about the almost embarrassing power differential. Think about my internal battle with my internalised power differential, and feeling on the back foot.
