I had to say goodbye to something this week that was important to me since 2020. It was a community i had loosely put together that had ebbed and flowed and because I had bad judgement about a few people they got in and destroyed it all. That was on me, I should have known better. It's odd tho how there is a peace that came over me. I will rebuild again though it will be different. They wanted me dead over a 6 year old local chat group that had nothing to do with these people that destroyed it 🥴 if you work with anyone who worked with Josh Salem you are putting everything at risk. Do not trust any of these people, they are here to destroy.

If you're hiking in the Ventura County or Placerita Canyons its probably wise to buy some snake boots. After 2 recent deaths from the Southern Pacific Rattlesnake. Wow, thats wild. Must have been painful. I was reading their venom is particularly difficult to treat compared to other rattlesnakes cause they have 3 different types of toxins. Here's what i dug up. Key Reasons for Treatment Difficulty: Persistent Hematologic Toxicity: Bites can lead to severe thrombocytopenia (critically low platelets) that is refractory, meaning platelets may continue to fall or stay low even after multiple vials of antivenom have been administered. Neurotoxicity: The Southern Pacific rattlesnake is the only rattlesnake in the Los Angeles region sometimes associated with neurotoxicity, which can be difficult for antivenom to reverse. High Vial Consumption: Patients bitten by this species often require a very high number of antivenom vials to achieve stabilization, with some cases reporting over 50 vials. Tissue Damage: The venom acts as a powerful cytotoxin and hemotoxin, causing massive swelling and tissue destruction. While antivenom can stop the progression, it does not reverse the damage already done, which can take weeks to heal. The toxin of the Southern Pacific rattlesnake (Crotalus helleri) is known to be particularly challenging to treat compared to other US rattlesnakes, often requiring high doses of antivenom

I imagine so! My Aunt lived in Canyon Country and thats right over from Ventura. They had all kinds of critters running around when i was there their poodle got eaten by a bobcat. Im on the east coast we have Pine Rattlers and Northern Diamond Backs. I actually seen my first Rattler ever in 2017. They're getting more common here though too. I almost mistaked it for a king snake till i got up close and the rattle started gone. Ill grab non venomous snake all day long.

@OC_Scanner @USHISTORY79 Theres a lot of Southern Pacifics here. Very easy to step on them. I was just at neighbor’s house dealing w/the biggest one Ive ever seen. I use the cowards method - put down a box with a hole in it and shoo the snake inside from 10ft away by misting it with a garden hose!
