🚨 A few hours ago, Robinhood’s email system was weaponized to send phishing links to users — from their official email address. Not many people are talking about this yet. Here’s the attack path: Someone attempts to log into the victim’s Robinhood account. Robinhood’s system then sends the victim a legitimate security alert email saying “a new device tried to sign in,” and includes the device name. The problem: that device name is read directly from the attacker’s device with no sanitization. So the attacker simply sets their device name to a long string of text — social engineering bait plus a phishing URL — which Robinhood’s email template renders inline. The email arrives from Robinhood’s real domain. Looks 100% legitimate because it is legitimate. Victim clicks the link, lands on a fake page, gets prompted to enter their seed phrase. If you got one of these recently: do NOT click anything in the email.
