Southern Miss with another run rule victory to finish 10th straight 40-victory season, by far the nation’s longest such streak. 9-0 in May this season, 21-1 over the last two seasons.

Well, tip your hat to @SouthernMissBSB today. Regardless of allegiance or rivalry, if you truly love college baseball, they deserve credit and congratulations for coming back from being several games out of the lead early in the year and just putting the pedal to the metal, going 14-1 the last half of the @SunBelt season and today winning a share of their first regular season championship since moving to the SBC, a switch that in baseball has fit them like a glove. And then to win it in walk-off fashion 11-0 on a home run in the bottom of the 8th is cinema. Like I said, we all have our favorite teams, but today, regardless of the uniform color or ballpark, is one as a college baseball fan you take a moment and appreciate what the sport can do for you. Winning today in walk-off, sweeping, and having a share of the title, you just have to give credit, and I'm pleased we @CollegeBaseCNT could cover it for you. As I write this, a lot of people at Pete Taylor ballpark have themselves glued to something that will tell them the score from Lafayette, LA, where the prospective co-champion and season-long leader Coastal Carolina is playing, currently trailing the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns 2-3. If they come back and win, it's a shared championship, and USM is likely the two seed at the tournament next week in Montgomery, AL. Should the Chants lose, it's USM's alone. We'll hear postgame comments from Head Coach Christian Ostrander, starting/winning pitcher Camden Sundstrom, and walk-off HR slugger Matthew Russo.
