@CUNY board voted tonight on designating Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, Lunar New Year and Diwali as holidays on the official CUNY school calendar starting on Academic year 2025-2026. All props to student advocacy in @USSCUNY. One of my proudest achievements as the student trustee!

Statement on today's announced NYC budget deal: “The Professional Staff Congress and its members are immensely appreciative of the Council’s restoration of $32.4 million in CUNY funding, the majority of the Mayor’s recent cuts to community college funding. #CareNotCUTs🧵

More on #NYCBudget: @NYCCouncil wins restoration of $32.4 million to CUNY. Other *nationally renowned* CUNY programs were also restored, including ACE and ASAP. This is a disaster-averted scenario, but does not fully recoup the Mayor's PEG cuts to CUNY over the last few years

The University Student Senate has proudly represented the +275,000 CUNY students and will continue to put in the work to achieve its mission to  preserve the accessibility, affordability, and excellence of higher education within the City University of New York."
