@Nuel006 Two seasons later, we about to sign another CM to replace the Ugarte while not making any profit on Ugarte. Add it together, it’s more than we’d have spent on Neves once Another case is Kane, we signed Hojlund and Zirkzee instead, for combined 90m, we had to sign Sesko for 80m.

@Nuel006 We need to learn from mistakes of the past. If data indicates Anderson is what Carrick need in his midfield, then get him. I don’t believe 115m is our budget for the entire middle. Because we wanted to spend money elsewhere, we decided Neves was too expensive and bought Ugarte

@utdreport I will take Ederson, Fernandes and Bruno instead. Tonali is good, but we need to really be intentional with and about the profile of player we are getting in. We need someone who can sit in and cover for both Bruno and Mainoo. We have to take that into consideration

Michael Carrick beating Brighton 3-0 without Casemiro says everything about how good his structure already is. Most managers would lose control without an experienced defensive midfielder, but United looked even more dynamic with Mount and Kobbie Mainoo as the pivot. People still don’t understand Carrick’s football. It’s not about meaningless possession, it’s about controlling spaces, transitions and forcing opponents to play the game on your TERMS. The scary part is this is still not even Carrick’s finished team, imagine adding Tonali, Ederson and Matheus Fernandes to join Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie at the midfield. That’s why this summer is massive. The coaching structure already looks elite. Carrick has already shown he can dominate top possession sides with limited options. Give him the right midfield profiles and Manchester United genuinely become a completely different monster.

Mount x Mainoo showed Carricks overall tactical intent. Casemiro was a means to an end for him...I don't think he wants a special "holding" DM profile. His aim is to have ballers being able to receive the ball, move and be able to recover in transition. That's why we are not linked to holding players.
