Realistically, the expectations for next season are top 4 again and a domestic cup. That should be the aim regardless of the manager, and it’s something Carrick can achieve. This squad still needs 6–7 quality players to aim higher, and I don’t think INEOS will sign them all in one window.

If Sandro Tonali joins Manchester United, I’m sorry but you’d be an idiot to not be excited about that. Getting the combination of profiles & skill sets is essential to completing the midfield rebuild & Tonali would be a significant addition. It’s going to be an exciting summer.
