Last week, UTEP honored more than 250 top scholars and the supporters who helped light their path to success. The incoming students are recipients of UTEP's Excellence Scholarships, which offer $2,000 - $8,000 per year, or the Presidential Scholarship, which offers a full ride to UTEP. The scholars were joined by proud family, mentors and friends, who together, celebrated their achievements and the village it took to get here. Welcome to the Miner family! You, too, can afford an excellent education at UTEP. Learn how: utep.edu/paying-for-col…

In El Paso, cases of Valley fever — a disease that can lead to serious respiratory illness or worse — have tripled in the past decade. Now, a new study by Dr. Gabriel Ibarra-Mejia from the UTEP College of Health Sciences (@utepchs), and colleagues in the College of Science, links the increase to extreme weather, wind and dust. The researchers believe these environmental signals can help predict outbreaks. Learn more: bit.ly/4n9IqIX

I was impressed by the UTEP Forensics team's spring showcase. It's no wonder they had four national championship wins at Pi Kappa Delta Nationals!
