Dr. James Ssemwanga, Chairperson of the UTGA Board, encouraged forest owners and growers to make full use of UTGA by reaching out and sharing feedback, so the association can deliver its services even better.

One of the strongest lessons from the field was that poor soil mix, weak nursery management, and low-quality planting materials can ruin plantation performance. UTGA urged growers to source seedlings from certified and well-managed nurseries with proper mother gardens.

At the Mubende cluster meeting, UTGA highlighted the importance of diversification through indigenous trees, medicinal species ,restoration efforts, and ecotourism opportunities. The message was clear: commercial forestry should create value while protecting biodiversity.
